Road safety campaigns

Promoting Safer Road Use

The Road Safety Unit is committed to making our roads safer for all road users: pedestrians; cyclists; motorcyclists; horse riders and drivers. A way to do this is by raising awareness about specific issues and changing attitudes and behaviour.

Our aim is to empower all road users and we use the Department for Transport THINK! branding to promote road safety messages.

We use a variety of media to circulate our messages such as:

  • The back of buses
  • Radio advertising
  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Billboards
  • Libraries
  • Schools

We focus on a variety of issues throughout the year.

Look out for the following campaigns:

  • Children
  • Motorbikes
  • Young Drivers
  • Speeding
  • Drink and Drug Driving
