BikeSense
As part of Staffordshire County Council's commitment to reducing motorcycle casualties we are promoting rider development through the 'BikeSense' Rider Development Scheme, which offers all full licence holders the opportunity to attend a full days' rider development course with advanced motorcycle trainers for a cost of only £30.
The development days are run from Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer. Starting at 9:30am, bikers will be out on the road by 10am and can expect a full day's tuition under the control of our team of advanced trainers. All tuition is on a 2:1 basis; pairings will be made on the day following discussion with clients in the morning. You will have a stop for lunch (the cost of which is not included) within the day and can expect to return to Stafford by approximately 4pm.
The course is run by volunteer observers and a small contribution will be requested towards fuel costs. You use your own bike and the test is conducted by an IAM appointed examiner who holds a Police Advanced Motorcycling Certificate. Advanced motorcycling is not about race-track riding, it's about skill, control and forward thinking. It's about staying alive and enjoying your motorcycling more on Staffordshire's roads.
