Safer Practice Driving Course

Between 25 per cent and 30 per cent of all serious and fatal road traffic incidents involve someone who was at work at the time.

Staffordshire Road Safety and Sustainable Travel Unit have developed a Safer Driving Practice Course offering businesses three different options to host workshops highlighting the various aspects of road safety issues encountered by their workforce. These workshops can be for a whole day, half day or two-hour in vehicle one-to-one session.

These workshops are flexible and tailor-made to individual needs. They involve theory and practical driving sessions.

What will you learn:

  • About you and your driving
  • Driving impairments - stress
  • Managing the risks
  • Hazard perception and defensive driving
  • Coping strategies to help manage and minimise risks

Who should attend this workshop

Business and professional drivers whose role exposes them to a higher than average risk and those who wish to develop their defensive driving skills.

The Road Safety Team can provide specialist training for users of all types of vehicles such as minibuses, four wheel drives and vehicles with trailers.
